Apple Still Leads in the Smartphone Market


According to recourses from Mac Rumors, Apple’s iPhone and iPad still gain the most popularity among US teenagers.

A recent research from Piper Jaffray shows, in this fall, more that half of the teenagers, aged from 13 to19 years old in US are using iPhone, increasing from 40% last fall. We can notice that, the share of iPhone users rose to 48% in spring and now the percentage climbs at 55%. 65% American teenagers also express their willing to select iPhone as mobile phone and 24% chooses Android, leaving it only 1% for BlackBerry.

As for tablets, 56% of adolescents have owned one tablet. Apple’s iPad occupies 60% of them, leading 23% Android tablets though drop down from 72% last fall and 63% this spring. 52% youngsters inclined to get a 10-inch iPad in six months and 12% choose iPad mini. 28% of them will likely purchase an Android tablet

Therefore, Apple is still leading the smartphone and tablet market in the US. iPhone and iPad are thought to be status symbols in American teenagers. As the new iPad 5 is coming around, Apple is gaining more and more attention worldwide.
